La La Land to Grace Chinese Cinemas once more
Iconic musical masterpiece La La Land returns to the silver screen in China, enchanting audiences as it celebrates its seventh anniversary. By: Wee Yan Ling
Lionsgate have collaborated with local distributor, JL Film to re-release the captivating film into the China market. Directed by Damien Chazelle, the film have conquered the global box office with an astounding $470 million, which includes $35 million from the Chinese audience.
The decision to re-release the film on its seventh anniversary holds immense significance as the number symbolises enduring unity and togetherness. The enthralling narrative and timeless appeal continue to win hearts which makes it the ultimate film for a cinematic return.
JL Film is experienced in the field of the foreign film investment scene. Having previously managed The Expendables 4, president Ricky Qi has displayed pride in bringing in La La Land to Chinese audiences.
