Kung Fu Panda 4 Trailer Obtains 142 million Views Upon Premiere, Boosted by TikTok

Kung Fu Panda 4 launched on a high note, with the trailer for the animated comedy achieving higher than 142 million views across multiple platforms. By: Dylan Low

TikTok was a major beneficiary to the karate combat’s trailer’s successful debut, which surpassed comparative Universal names such as The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Minions 2, Sing 2 and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, as stated by the studio.

The Kung Fu Panda 4 trailer showcases the return of the fan-favourite panda Po played by Jack Black, climbing to the top of YouTube’s trending page. According to Universal, the majority of the viewing audience were of ages 25 to 34.

In the fourth instalment, Po prepares to retire as the Dragon Warrior and readies to become a spiritual leader, and looks to tutor a cunning fox called Zhen, voice acted by Awkwafina, to be his successor to the role.

Ke Huy Quan and Viola Davis will be featured in the cast of Kung Fu Panda 4, joined by recurring voice actors Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston and Ian McShane. The kung fu comedy is directed by Mike Mitchell and co-directed by Stephanie Ma Stine. It will premiere on March 8th, 2024, in theatres distributed by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures.
