Despite George Clooney making his appearance as Bruce Wayne in the final few scenes of The Flash, he has no interest in reprising his role as Batman. By: Dylan Low
Promoting his recently directed film The Boys in the Boat, Clooney has remained adamant that the possibility of him playing Batman again is slim to none. Clooney stated, “I do not think there’s enough drugs in the world for me to go back.”
He talked about his surprise cameo in this year’s Warner Bros. film The Flash, “I thought there was such a clamour for me to come back as Batman, as you know. There was a clamour,” Clooney sarcastically remarked, “I actually said, ‘Where are my rubber nipples?’ And they were like, ‘Can we do it without the rubber nipples?’ I was like, ‘Well, it’s not really my Batman, is it?'”
Clooney debuted as the iconic Gotham superhero in the ill-famed 1997 sequel Batman & Robin, which he has publicly ridiculed about since. The famous actor-director once claimed in an interview, “It was a difficult film to be good in. With hindsight it’s easy to look back at this and go, ‘Woah, that was really shit and I was really bad in it.’”
He has also joked saying that Batman & Robin was so awful that it “destroyed” the DC superhero franchise, going as far as to not allow his wife to watch it as it was so dreadful. “There are certain films I just go, ‘I want my wife to have some respect for me.’”
