Netflix's advertising-based plan demonstrates robust growth, according to Amy Reinhard, President of Advertising at Netflix. By: Wee Yan Ling
Amy Reinhard, Netflix’s President of Advertising revealed that they are witnessing impressive growth in their advertising-based subscription plan as they garner more than 23 million monthly users worldwide.
Reinhard further underscored that the substantial 85% of customers on the ad-supported plans spend more than two hours daily streaming content on Netflix. This milestone has marked a significant increase from two months prior when Netflix revealed the report of 15 million monthly active users for its ad-supported tier.
In Netflix’s October shareholder letter, they have revealed that the ad-tier comprise 30% of all the new signups in the 12 countries that the platform is launched. Reinhard had also displayed her gratitude for the opportunity to take a long-term perspective on the business as she cited that the company’s scalability is of their utmost priority.
Reinhard said at the Variety Entertainment Summit, “Scaling our business is absolutely our biggest priority right now, but we want to make sure we’re doing that in a meaningful way for the members.”
