The
Deadpool actress will be featuring in an upcoming episode of Fire
Country, with a guest starring role as Sheriff Mickey. She could become a
regular series member as the Season 2 episode is speculated to showcase a
potential spinoff series. The episode will be broadcast later in the season.
CBS Network and Studios had declined requests for comments on the potential
spinoff.
“Mickey is
a Sheriff’s Deputy for fifteen years who knows every corner of Edgewater … and
every one of its inhabitants. This is her town and she’s fiercely protective of
it,” the official description of the series reads.
Fire
Country casts Max Thieriot, Billy Burke,
Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules
Latimer. It follows Bode Donavan (played by Thieriot), who, midway through a
five-year prison sentence, gets the opportunity to agree to an unconventional
prison-release programme where “in exchange for reduced sentences,
convicts are paired with firefighters battling Northern California wildfires.
The heat is turned up when Bode’s assigned to the program in his rural
hometown, the place where all his troubles began.”
CBS
officially renewed the show for a sequel in January last year. The show
initially premiered on CBS in 2023, on October 7th.
“It’s
pretty remarkable to see a new series resonate like this with both broadcast
and streaming audiences right out of the gate,” stated the president of CBS
Entertainment Amy Reisenbach. “Fire Country has so many appealing entry
points for the audience. It combines high-stakes action with small town charm,
mystery and romance, and a family franchise at its core. We’re blessed to have
an incredible team in front of and behind the camera led by amazing producers
and writers and an exceptionally talented cast.”
Season 2 of
Fire Country will be available to watch on CBS from Friday, February
16th.
