Paramount Global’s content distribution unit announced a licensing deal with MultiChoice to create a Paramount+ “branded destination” on the African pay TV operator’s platform. By K Dass.
Paramount Global Content Distribution has entered
into a licensing agreement with MultiChoice to introduce Paramount+ on the
African continent. This collaboration marks the debut of the Paramount+ brand
in pan-Africa, offering African audiences’ direct access to a dedicated space
for new and returning television series, feature films, and more.
As part of Paramount’s global expansion strategy,
this licensing deal creates a Paramount+ branded destination within the
pan-African platform MultiChoice. Viewers will have access to world-class
content from various sources, including CBS, Paramount+ Originals, Showtime,
and Paramount Pictures. Iconic films and hit television series such as Yellowstone,
1883, 1923, Poker Face, Special Ops: Lioness, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and the
upcoming new series Landman will be available to MultiChoice
subscribers.
This agreement reflects MultiChoice’s commitment to
providing viewers with world-class entertainment options and enriching their
entertainment experience. In addition to this collaboration, MultiChoice has
also relaunched its Showmax streaming platform in partnership with Comcast’s
NBCUniversal and Sky.
