Meet the Stallones in Reality TV

Hollywood has found a new celebrity family fixation, meet Sylvester Stallone and his family of 5.

The Hollywood Veteran Rocky and Rambo star, his wife Jennifer, and their three kids - Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet - have followed the legacy of other celebrity families such as the Osbournes and Kardashians, releasing their own reality show centred around the in-and-outs of their daily lives.

Sylvester has had a career renaissance in recent years. In film, the 76-year-old starred in last year's Prime Video action pic Samaritan, and he's a producer of the upcoming Creed III. He is also the star of this year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Expendables 4. On TV, he is not only the executive producer, but also the leading cast member of the Paramount+ drama Tulsa King, which has been renewed for a second season.

The Family Stallone, which premiered on US streaming service Paramount+ in May, comprised of an eight-episode docuseries. The show featured the scenes of Stallone on set filming television series Tulsa King as well as at home with his family, granting viewers a peek into his celebratory moments, alongside the more intimate family scenes. The unscripted series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, with Benjamin Hurvitz and Nadim Amiry as executive producers. Julie Pizzi, Farnaz Farjam and Jonathan Singer serve as executive producers for Bunim-Murray Productions, with Chris Ray and Jason Williams as co-executive producers.

Its first season has since been met with remarkable success, with the first episode breaking the record for the top original reality series premiere on Paramount+. The first season is currently available for streaming on Paramount+ in several regions, including the United States, Canada, Latin America, Brazil, the UK, Australia, and Italy, with plans to expand to more international markets in the future. Following the series' widespread popularity, Paramount+ ordered a second season of the show just days after the first season's launch. The release window for the hit reality show's second season has yet to be announced.

“So, what you see here is what you get. This is what we've been wanting to do for a long time, which is share our life a little bit because it's entertaining," Stallone told Reuters in a joint interview with Jennifer and their daughter. "It also has a message that no matter what you have, we may have all the trappings of wealth and we're very fortunate, we still have the same issues and the same wants and the same needs and the same requirements for love and so it's there for everyone to see."

The family has shared that the idea for the show emerged after Sistine and Sophia released their own podcast Unwaxed. "We've featured our whole family on it and everyone was so shocked that they were just so funny and relatable and gave great business advice," Sistine remarked. "I think people just kept wanting to see more and more."

When questioned about the show's potential comparison to hit show The Kardashians, Stallone acknowledged that though the Kardashians were exceptional in what they did and very original, his family will be embarking on a different track. He notes, “The main thing is you don't try to copy someone. That's who they are, we are who we are and that's what I think gives the audience a variety."
