M7 and Prima Ink Satellite Distribution Deal
This distribution deal expands the availability of Prima channels in Slovakia, enhancing the viewing options for audiences in the region. By: K Dass.
Slovakia - M7 Group, a Luxembourg-based pay-TV provider owned
by CANAL+ Group, has recently concluded an agreement with Prague-based Prima
Group for the satellite distribution of two channels in the Slovak market:
Prima COOL SK and Prima LOVE SK. As part of this deal, Prima COOL SK has
already launched via the M7-owned Skylink TV platform at ASTRA 23.5 East.
Prima COOL SK offers
original comedy series, entertainment shows, and travel magazines, primarily
targeting younger and male viewers. Meanwhile, Prima LOVE SK, which primarily
caters to a female audience, is set to launch later this year. The agreement also
includes technical solutions provided by M7 Platform Services to ensure the
safe and secure delivery of both channels to third-party operators in Slovakia.
Prima COOL SK has
gained a notable following in Slovakia, particularly among younger viewers and
those seeking entertainment content. The channel offers a mix of original
comedy series, entertainment shows, and travel magazines, which resonates with
its target audience. Its recent satellite launch via the M7-owned Skylink TV
platform at ASTRA 23.5 East further expands its reach, making it accessible to
more Slovak TV households. Overall, Prima COOL SK has made a positive impact on
the Slovak television landscape.
This collaboration
builds upon the existing partnership between M7 and Prima Group, which has been
distributing Prima channels in the Czech market for several years. Michal
Stárek, Senior Distribution Manager at Prima Group, expressed excitement about
the satellite launch of the new Slovak Prima channels via M7, emphasising the
reach among Slovak TV households. Bill Wijdeveld, VP Platform Content Services
at M7 Group, also expressed satisfaction with the agreement and looks forward
to a fruitful continuation of their partnership.
