Disney+ subscribers can look forward to exclusive bonus content alongside the film. This includes a performance of the song "Impossible Child" by Oscar winner Javier Bardem in his role as King Triton, with music composed by multiple Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics penned by three-time Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. Additional bonus features encompass "Passing the Dinglehopper" and "Under the Sea – Song Breakdown."
The Little Mermaid narrates the enchanting tale of Ariel, a spirited young mermaid yearning for adventure. Despite the prohibition on mermaids interacting with humans, Ariel's curiosity leads her to fall in love with Prince Eric and make a life-altering deal with the nefarious sea witch, Ursula.
The star-studded cast features Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, Daveed Diggs lending his voice to Sebastian, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay voicing Flounder, Noma Dumezweni as The Queen, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
Directed by Oscar nominee Rob Marshall and written by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee, the film is a blend of captivating storytelling and music composed by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman, and new lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. With a team of accomplished producers, including Marc Platt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, John DeLuca, and Rob Marshall, The Little Mermaid promises to be a captivating addition to Disney+ offerings, sure to enthrall both old and new audiences.
