Max Unveils 24/7 CNN Streaming Offer

Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max streaming platform announces plans to launch CNN Max, a 24/7 news offering, in the US. By: Theng Min Yee

The novel service is set to debut, offering tailor-made programming exclusively designed for the Max streaming audience. Among the featured shows are CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta, Rahel Solomon, Amara Walker, and Fredricka Whitfield, as well as CNN Newsroom with Jim Sciutto. Notably, Sciutto will also take the helm for breaking news coverage during the afternoons.

Dubbed CNN Max, the platform will not only present newly created content but also incorporate established shows such as Amanpour, Anderson Cooper 360, The Lead with Jake Tapper, and The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. These renowned programs will feature an expanded lineup of anchors, correspondents, and contributors.

The area currently known as the CNN Originals hub will undergo a rebranding as CNN Max. Within this space, subscribers will gain access to an extended range of offerings, including the CNN Max 24/7 Live stream, CNN originals, and supplementary news content.

JB Perrette, the CEO and president of global streaming and games, expressed the broader vision for Max, which aspires to be a comprehensive entertainment destination for diverse household members. He highlighted the strategic decision to incorporate high-quality news programming, further enriching the Max experience at no additional cost. Perrette also emphasized the value of CNN's extensive global news coverage and its availability on a digitally scalable platform in the U.S., catering to a younger, additive audience compared to traditional television.

CNN's leadership team, including Amy Entelis, David Leavy, Virginia Moseley, and Eric Sherling, voiced their enthusiasm for CNN Max's launch and its role in expanding CNN's outreach. They noted that CNN Max would bring the network's renowned global journalism, breaking news coverage, and insightful analysis to a fresh platform and a new audience. The team underlined CNN's legacy of innovation in news delivery and its commitment to evolving and growing with CNN Max, aligning with changing consumption patterns and viewer preferences.
