Movistar Plus+ Renews with The Walt Disney

Owned by Telefónica, Spain-operated streaming and pay TV service Movistar Plus+ has renewed their agreement with The Walt Disney Company, to continue showcasing the streaming platform Disney+ on its service and the addition of a bundle of channels to its collection. By: Dylan Low

Movistar Plus+ will maintain their status as the exclusive Spanish home of coverage of the Oscar ceremony, which has screened exclusively for longer than a decade.

Other than Disney+, this deal entails more channels like Fox, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Baby TV.

The agreement with Disney indicates that Movistar Plus+ subscribers will be able to continue viewing content inclusive of 911, FBI Most Wanted and Genius: Martin Luther King on National Geographic, alongside Nat Geo Wild documentaries and kids’ programmes on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Baby TV.

Last week onwards, Disney+ has been accessible to all subscribers who buy Movistar Plus+’s new bundle Disney+, which is now on promotional terms to customers of its Ficción MiMovistar subscription.

The Pack Disney+ gives users access into viewing original series such as The Bear on FX and Hulu original Only Murders in the Building, along with mainstream series Grey’s Anatomy.

This month, Disney+ will be screening films namely Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, coupled with Spanish special Isabel Preysler: Mi Navidad, the trending series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the most recent season of The Simpsons. Impending shows set to release include The Creator and Spanish original Cristóbal Balenciaga.
