The final, showcasing defending champion Luke Humphries winning against the 16-year-old talent Luke Littler last week, attracted higher than 4.8 million viewers. This makes a significant 143% increase compared to last year’s final.

The pay TV operator also claimed a major improvement in overall engagement across its digital platforms after the match, garnering 27.6 million video views across Sky Sports’ social channels. It also oversaw engagement boost across the Sky Sports app and website, with 2.44 million accounts following on the live blog.

Sky Sports offers a broad coverage of top darts competitions, comprising exclusively live broadcasts of the World Darts Championship coupled with broadcasting of the Premier League, World Matchplay, Grand Slam of Darts, World Grand Prix and World Cup of Darts. Sky has also commissioned a brand-new darts documentary series, consisting of three parts.

Sky Sports’ managing director Jonathan Licht claimed, “Even more of the nation have fallen in love with the darts over the last few weeks and as a long-term partner of the PDC, we are thrilled that this most entertaining of sports is in the spotlight. Over 4.8m people tuned in to watch the remarkable final last night, making it the most watched non-football sports event ever on Sky and NOW.”
