The BBC-operated children’s television channel is kicking off the year with new and returning soap operas, which will premiere on BBC iPlayer and the platform itself this month. By: Cassia Ling
Vegesaurs will have its second feature launched, which follows the young Tricarrotop, Ginger and her Pea-rex friends globetrotting on escapades. Nature-centred Andy’s Global Adventures will also be reinstated, and imminent program titles slated to be released this year include Lu & The Bally Bunch and Vida the Vet.
Lu & The Bally Bunch recounts the young protagonist, Lu, a 3-and-a-half-year-old ladybird as she weathers sunshine and storms in her new preschool chapter and rebrands her social life. Vida the Vet chronicles the dynamics of 10-year-old Vida and her family, including her pet hamster, Popcorn.
Vida the Vet and Andy’s Global Adventures will be storming into the channel on January 15 while Lu & The Bally Bunch holds off for another week before its premiere on January 22.
Kate Morton, senior head of children’s commissioning for BBC Children’s, said, “Preschoolers can start the new year making new friends on CBeebies as we kick off the year with a fantastic range of content for our young children and families across the U.K. Animated shows like Vida the Vet and Lu & The Bally Bunch, along with returning hits Vegesaurs and Andy’s Global Adventures, promise a treat for kids and parents alike!”
