BBC Kids is scheduled for debut on the popular Arabic streaming platform, Shahid from 8 February 2024 onwards. By: Wee Yan Ling
This
strategic alliance expands the BBC Kids brand to the Middle East, making it the
sixth market to welcome the children-focused channel.
BBC
Kids renders inspiring and educational content customised for children aged
0-12 as it aims to spark imagination and creativity the ad-free video
destination on Shahid will render 200 hours of premium programming, fully
dubbed into Arabic. Titles such as Jojo and Gran Gran, the Andy’s
Adventures Collection, Deadly 60 and Junior Bake Off are among the
offerings.
The
inclusion of BBC Kids on Shahid complements the existing CBeebies Preschool
linear channel as it has been made available in the region from 2016.
Pre-school animation series Hey Duggee will have their free-to-air debut
across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and North Africa through
the MCC3 children’s channel.
The
