Pitch Perfect Star Exposes Sacha Baron Cohen in Excerpt From Upcoming Memoir
Rebel Wilson has exposed English actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in an excerpt from the Australian actress’ upcoming memoir. By: Kritchanon Tan Kian Wei
US - Australian actress Rebel Wilson, best known for playing the role of Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, has revealed in an excerpt from her upcoming memoir that she had been mistreated by English comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen, who had asked her to perform an adult scene in front of the camera.
“It felt like every time I’d speak to SBC, he’d mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene. I was like, ‘Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha,” Wilson wrote.
However, a representative of Baron Cohen said in a statement responding to the claims: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence,including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
The 44-year-old actress had earlier shared in a deleted Instagram story on March 23:“I wrote about an asshole in my book. Now, said asshole is trying to threaten me. He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He is trying to stop press coming out about my book. But the book WILL come out, and you will all know the truth.”
The next day, she added, in another Instagram story: “I will not be bullied or silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers. The ‘asshole’ that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.”
Rebel Wilson’s upcoming autobiography, Rebel Rising: A Memoir, will launch on 2 April 2024.
