Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom narrates the story of Arthur Curry, having to juggle his new life as a father of his newborn son and the king of Atlantis.
He faces an intimidating rival as he comes face to face with Black Manta, who is armed with the powerful Black Trident. Black Manta is now as formidable as ever as he holds the Black Trident that grants him the power to wreak havoc upon the world. And one thing is for sure, he is determined to exact revenge for the death of his father.
The stakes heightened as Arthur forms an alliance with his half-brother, Orm, also known as the former King of Atlantis. The film engages viewers in a whirlwind of emotions underwater in the beautiful underwater landscape.
Yahya Abdul-Mahteen II perfectly sported the look of Black Manta as he dons a new costume that is sure to draw nostalgia as it evokes the classic comic book design. Whereas, Patrick Wilson’s portrayal of Orm has infused the character with richness and depth as he perfectly balanced his internal conflict with levity.
The impressive visual effects paired with the beautiful visual graphics is sure to immerse viewers in the film. In addition, it has tactfully threaded on the right amount of action, levity and conversation to make every moviegoer stay glued to the screens.
The film delivers a visually enthralling underwater narrative that takes the viewers through the complexities of its characters’ relationships. It continues to render a spectacle that leaves a ripple in the vast ocean of superhero cinema.
