Japan - TBS Holdings, Inc. has announced its capital investment in Megalis, Inc. TBS Group’s pioneering studio for global strategy THE SEVEN, Inc. has also come to an agreed strategic partnership with Megalis. This partnership will give a boost to the company’s production capabilities.
TBS Holdings, Inc is a Japanese media and licensed broadcasting holding company, with TBS Television and TBS Radio under it. Takashi Sasaki acts as its President and CEO. THE SEVEN, Inc. is a film production company that creates dramas, movies, and other forms of entertainment. Tatsuo Sugai is THE SEVEN’s President. The company partners with streaming platforms like Netflix to bring Japanese content to global viewers.
These collaborations are significant to TBS Group’s global strategy, which is highlighted in its long-term vision, VISION 2030. As TBS Group integrates Megalis’s production expertise into its plethora of entertainment content, the company can work on appealing and expanding its content globally.
Megalis, Inc. is a premier VFX production company with global talent and cutting-edge technology. It is co-directed by CEOs Christophe Rodo and Jeffrey Dillinger. The studio has clients from all over the world, including Japan. It handles projects like visual effects for movies and dramas, and 3DCG animated features and series. Its recent animation project ONI: Thunder God’s Tale for Netflix won three Emmy Awards, making the company name increasingly known to the world.
THE SEVEN’s strategic partnership with Megalis will therefore further enrich the productions that they develop and open up the opportunity to bring high quality content to global audiences. Projects that have been developed by THE SEVEN and Megalis include the Netflix live-action series Yu Yu Hakusho and the feature film Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.
