Korea’s Jeonju International Film Festival Announced; Opening with 102 Korean Films and Inside Out 2 World Premiere

South Korea - The 25th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) is set to open next month, with 232 works from 43 nations being screened, 102 of which are Korean films, the organising committee revealed at a press conference at CGV Yongsan in Seoul on Wednesday April 3.
Most prominently, Pixar’s highly-anticipated sequel Inside Out 2 will make its worldwide premiere during the event ahead of its June 14 US release, as part of a partnership with The Walt Disney Company Korea which will also see a Disney-themed pop-up zone as part of the event.
The festival’s opening film is All the Long Nights, a Japanese film directed by Sho Miyake, based on the Maiko Seo novel of the same name. The film sees Fujisawa, who is constantly irritated while experiencing premenstrual syndrome, sharing a bond with Yamazoe, who has a panic disorder.
As for the closing film, Matt and Mara is a Canadian indie romance film directed by Kazik Radwanski that sees university professor Mara unexpectedly reconnecting with Matt, a man from her past.
Additionally, the “Jeonju Cinetour x Meet” section will make its return from last year in collaboration with Varo Entertainment, which will see public talks being hosted by actors signed under the agency, including Jin Goo, Gong Seung-yeon, Lee Soo-kyung, as well as Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead star Lee Yoo-mi.
The 25th Jeonju International Film Festival will run from May 1 to 10 on Jeonju Film Street in the Wansan-gu District of Jeonju, in the Jeollabuk-do Province.
