Taylor Swift Concert Film for Global Theatrical Release

The American superstar has announced that her documentary film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be screened worldwide in over 100 countries. By: Dylan Low

This upcoming movie is set to detail her record shattering and popular Eras tour. Previously set to only screen in North America, it will now be showcased in cinemas all around the world.

It will officially be released in Singapore on November 3rd, with tickets on sale at local cinemas Cathay Cineplexes, Golden Village, Shaw Theatres, The Projector and the official event website. Adult tickets for the documentary will cost $19.89, referencing Swift’s 1989 album while children tickets will be priced at $13.13 in relation to Taylor Swift’s lucky number ‘13’.

“The tour isn’t the only thing we’re taking worldwide,” Swift posted on Instagram. “Been so excited to tell you all that The Eras Tour concert film is now officially coming to theatres WORLDWIDE on Oct 13!”

AMC Entertainment, the company in charge of film release in the United States, is set to also handle international distribution. They are facilitating agreements with film operators representing more than 7,500 cinemas worldwide to showcase the movie.

The Eras film will be available in many destinations around the world, starting October 13th. Demand for the movie has grown to rival the high interest generated by popular film franchises such as Disney’s Marvel and Star Wars.

AMC reported the film’s announcement broke records, with first-day ticket sales hitting $26 million, a new company record. It was previously held by Spider-Man: No Way Home with $16.9 million. The film is also projected to make around US$96 million to US$145 million in North America during the opening weekend.

This follows up her announcement of her Eras Tour, originally being 53 shows played in stadiums around the United States and expanded to currently include 78 international dates.
