Beloved General Hospital Star Tyler Christopher Passes Away at 50

Christopher gained recognition for his performances in General Hospital and Days of Our Lives, accumulating five Daytime Emmy nominations throughout his illustrious career, securing two well-deserved victories. By: Wee Yan Ling

The death of Christopher has been confirmed on Instagram stating, "It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher," it read. "Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment."

"Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting. Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him."

Prior to his passing, Christopher passionately championed improved mental health and substance use care, by candidly sharing his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol addiction.

General Hospital Executive Producer Frank Valentini revealed that: “I am heartbroken over the news of Tyler Christopher’s passing. He was kind, an incredible actor, and dear friend, who was beloved by our GH family and fans of Nikolas Cassadine."

Christopher played the role of Nikolas Cassadine on the legendary soap opera and also portrayed Stefan DiMEra on Days of Our Lives which propelled him to fame. He had been recognised for his efforts after winning his second Daytime Emmy for the performance.
