Love Story Star, Ryan O'Neal dies at 82

Iconic actor Ryan O'Neal passed away peacefully on December 8, leaving behind a legacy that defined Hollywood. By: Wee Yan Ling

Ryan O’Neal is known as the actor who played unforgettable performances which included an Oscar-nominated role in Love Story. The news of his death has been confirmed by his son, Patrick O’Neal who revealed the update in a heartfelt Instagram tribute as he described his father as a “Hollywood Legend”.

Ryan O’Neal was born to the screenwriter Charles O’neal and actress Patricia. He had made an indelible mark in the entertainment industry and broke into the scene in 1964 with Peyton Place and was catapulted to fame. His endearing talent continued to shine when he was in Peter Bogdanovich's 1972 hit comedy What's Up, Doc?, where he starred opposite Barbra Streisand.

O’Neal had also collaborated with his pre-teen daughter in the 1973 film Paper Moon where he earned a nomination for Best Actor. 

Ryan O'Neal is survived by four children, each a testament to his complex and multifaceted personal life. His children include Tatum, 60, and Griffin, 59, from his marriage to Joanna Moore; Patrick, 56, from his union with Leigh Taylor-Young; and Redmond, 38, born to him and Farrah Fawcett.
