BBC Secures Seasons 2 and 3 for Vegesaurs

Beloved Vegesaurus return to CBeebies with seasons two and three, promising 40 new episodes packed with adventure and adorable characters! By: Wee Yan Ling

Studio 100 Media had announced the triumphant return of Vegesaurus to CBeebies as they secured both seasons two and three. The new seasons promise to deliver 40 exciting new episodes as they introduce more lovable characters to enthrall young audiences.

The first season of Vegesaurus debuted in the UK on CBeebies back in February this year. It contains 20 episodes and have earned impeccable ratings to propel the series into a regular weekday morning slot on the channel’s Discover & Do zone. The show is also widely received on the BBC iPlayer platform which has garnered more than 20 million views to date.

The next season will be released early next year while season three is still in the works and will be released in the third quarter of 2024. The series had excelled in entertaining young viewers and also became a licensing and merchandising success which has further catapulted the brand to international acclaim.

"We are very happy to have BBC on board. The acquisition of seasons two and three represents a strong and long-term commitment for the 'Vegesaurs' brand. The fantastic performance of the series in the UK so far contributes significantly to the brand's international success – not only on the broadcasting side, but also regarding licensing & merchandising," says Martin Krieger, CEO of Studio 100 Media.

Vegesaurus had found international success as it had partnered with broadcasters such as France TV, SVT, MiniMini+, NPO, Zappelin, MTVA and many more.

A fresh take on the dinosaur genre with unique vegetable and fruit-shaped characters, Vegesaurs is targeted at upper preschoolers. The series follows the mini adventures of Ginger, a young Triceratops and her three baby Pea-Rex friends as they embark on a journey to enrich and enhance children's imagination and simultaneously leaning into very relatable themes for upper preschoolers such as mealtimes and healthy food, sharing, diversity etc.
