Siwa was previously a judge on the show’s 17th season in 2022 and will form alliance with SYTYCD all-star and choreographer Allison Holker as well as the former Dancing With the Stars pre Maksim Chmerkovskiy when the season premiers on March 4. By: Wee Yan Ling
Lythgoe’s departure from the show was shrouded in controversy as he is faced with a lawsuit from Paula Abdul, the co-judge from their time together on American Idol and SYTYCD. Abdul’s suit alleges instances of sexual assault by Lythgoe during the time of their tenure on American Idol and in 2015 when discussions about Abdul joining So You Think You Can Dance took place.
Lythgoe
had denied all the allegations while touting a long-standing platonic
relationship with Abdul. Despite the exit he had displayed a commitment to
clear his name as he had chosen not to be credited as an executive productive
in the forthcoming season.
As
the show continues with the departure, JoJo Siwa’s return to the series will
bring about a new perspective and energy. Siwa is renowned for her exuberant
personality and contributions to the entertainment industry.
