CNBC’s Ex-Anchor Appointed as CNN White House Correspondent

CNN hires Kayla Taushe as its new senior White House correspondent. By: Talia

CNN has appointed Kayla Tausche as their latest senior White House correspondent, following her tenure at CNBC where she held the position of anchor and senior White House correspondent. Notably, she co-anchored CNBC's 2020 election coverage and was previously the anchor of Squawk Alley, having joined CNBC back in 2011.

In her new role at CNN, Tausche will continue her coverage of the Biden administration, with her deep knowledge in technology, economic, and foreign policy matters, which is expected to greatly contribute to her reporting on the 2024 election.

Tausche's hiring comes in the wake of CNN CEO Chris Licht's departure in June, leaving Amy Entelis, Virginia Moseley, Eric Sherling, and David Leavy to oversee the network's day-to-day operations. CNN boasts a robust White House team, including Phil Mattingly as chief White House correspondent, MJ Lee as senior White House correspondent, and several other journalists based in the West Wing.

Sources suggest that Mattingly could potentially be considered to co-host CNN's morning show alongside Poppy Harlow. The morning show has seen some changes after Don Lemon's departure from the network and Kaitlan Collins' shift to the 9 p.m. time slot.

Tausche's hiring is a sign that CNN is committed to strengthening its White House coverage. A talented journalist with a deep understanding of current affairs rising, her arrival is a welcome addition to the CNN team.
