Description

The movie starts by showing how Ant-Man Scott Lang has adapted to life after the events of Endgame, once again giving the audiences a better idea of who he is and where he has been, seeing that he has changed a lot since entering the MCU in 2015.

It also highlights the relationship between himself and his daughter Cassie, with him playing superhero for so long that it has created an emotional distance between the pair, touching on the topic of parenthood. This would also apply to the relationship of Hope (The Wasp) and her mother Janet Van Dyne, immediately linking to her time trapped in an unknown world which is explored in the film: The Quantum Realm.

Through the introduction of this new concept, the sci-fi Marvel film does an incredible job at explaining what the Quantum Realm is all about, combined with good CGI and graphics showing the alien biology as the main characters embark on a journey exploring the realm.

It is in the Quantum Realm where the main leads meet the MCU’s new supervillain in the upcoming years: Kang the Conqueror. Portrayed by Jonathan Majors, he absolutely nails the multifaceted personality of Kang, who is a man burdened with his domain for a long time yet has the fiery will to use it to achieve unimaginable destruction.

With the presence of new central themes, character casts and beautiful backdrops, Antman: Quantumania is a good continuation to the Ant-Man series, an interesting and promising start to Phase Five, the Multiverse Saga.
