Unexpectedly, Migration, Illumination and Universal’s animated adventure about a mallard family have clinched the second spot with $6.3 million. The musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel, The Color Purple had garnered an impeccable $3.8 million in merely three days. The illustrious cast featuring Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, and Fantasia Barrino, contributes to the film's critical acclaim.
